Time to Give the Knicks Some Credit

The New York Knicks have been playing at a high level as they have now won 8 straight games. The Knicks are currently in the playoffs sitting in the 6th spot 3 games out of the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks have struggled for parts of the season on both sides of the court but seem to be now putting it together. As a Knicks fan I have been very critical of Julius Randle and RJ Barret. They have been playing well over this stretch. Julius Randle has been averaging 25 points and 8 rebounds. RJ Barret has been averaging 21 points over this win streak. A huge reason why RJ and Julius are able to be so successful this year is because they now have a point guard who can take the ball out of their hands. Jalen Brunson has had a huge impact on this team. A playoff experienced point guard is just what the Knicks needed Brunson is averaging 20 points and 6 assists on the season.

Coach Thibodeau deserves some credit as well he's always been a great defensive mind but over these last 8 games the Knicks have been averaging 115 points a game and giving up only giving up 98 points per game. The Knicks bench has also been vital this season with contributions from the young guys Immanuel Quickley, Quentin Grimes, Miles McBride and Jericho Sims. I would love to see Cam Redish get some more playing time as he has size and skills on the wing to help the Knicks come playoff time. The Inside the NBA crew laughed off the Knicks winning streak but I'm confident that the Knicks will be a problem for any team they face in the playoffs.
